Installing It
Click Download for Mac above. A file called Gnomon.dmg lands in your Downloads folder.
Double-click that file. In the window that opens, drag the Gnomon icon onto the Applications folder.
Open Gnomon from your Applications folder. The clock appears at the top centre of your screen, just under the camera.
Gnomon is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a security warning. It makes no network connections and collects nothing.
Using It
- To move it, drag it anywhere you like.
- To resize it, drag an edge or a corner, or pinch on the trackpad with the pointer over the clock.
- For everything else, right-click the clock (or click with two fingers). That menu has colours, fonts, size, 24-hour time, the session alert, and Quit.
- There is no Dock icon and no menu bar. The clock is the whole app. To close it, right-click it and choose Quit Gnomon.
Gnomon remembers where you put it and how you set it up, so it comes back the same way next time.
Session Alerts
Right-click the clock and choose Session Alert…. Enter the time your session ends and how much warning you want, from none up to five minutes.
When the warning comes, the clock flashes amber. Click it and it stops. When the session is over, it flashes red. Click it again and the alert is done.
A small dot on the clock shows that an alert is set. To change or cancel it, open the same menu item.
